Building number 10 in Sanlitun commercial district is one the most famous building from the area. The building itself is easily recognizable by its shape, color and the logo that tops it. Our first approach is to create a more vibrant elevation by simplify it. We create a textured façade by using vertical elements that change their depth as they go. The accents change from a horizontal elevation to a vertical one – to create a slenderer volume.
The element of color is kept but transformed into light at night – so some of the vertical elements will be light fixtures that will create a pattern of their own.
